Greetings to all members, and happy spring!
Yeah! Summer is here! Isn’t it great to see the sun? Why not come to a friendly, informative General Membership Meeting, and have a great lunch at Wheat Montana while learning about new legislation, green building and lots of other facts from great speakers!
The Board meets once a month, as well as the Student Build House Committee. To keep you informed, we will give the highlights of what was discussed at the May meetings:
Student Built House: The meeting was held May 5th. The April construction bills were reviewed, and we are within budget and current. Discussion was held on the open house for May 29th. Jackie gave a report on the real estate market, and things seem to be picking up as she is seeing more activity. She spoke about the Plum Creek closures, and how appraisers have changed their methods of valuation of property. Russ reported on the status of the house, with the driveway formed and ready to pour. The holes are set for the fence, most of the cabinets are set, as well as the siding and roof are done. The sod is on it’s way, and the sprinklers are in. Things are moving along well, although the weather has put a damper on some of the outdoor work.
Regular Board Meeting: Was held May 13, but no report available.
General Membership Meeting: Bill Barron was our featured speaker, and spoke on a variety of interesting topics. He was a very good speaker, and very informative, and there were lots of questions from the attendees for bill.

A Message
From Our President:
Our May GMM was well attended. We were informed and entertained by county commissioner, Bill Barrons. In a prior life Bill worked for a large building contractor, and that experience is reflected in the positive way he views the building industry. We listened as Bill told us that a growing Lake County was a key to the future financial health the County and the services it provides. Bill has an open door policy in his office and the doctor is always “in”.
It is regret that we will be saying goobye to Linnda Dumont. Thanks, Linda for your work over these past months.
Sincerely,
John Agnew, 2009 LCBA President, American Truss, LLC
